Cairo denies directing an invitation to the Israeli Foreign Minister to visit Egypt

Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry stated, commenting on what the Israeli media published that the Egyptian National Intelligence Agency Chief directed an invitation to Israel’s Foreign Minister to visit Egypt when he met him briefly at the office of the Israeli Prime Minister during the visit of Chief Major General Omar Suleiman to Israel yesterday, that this news is not true. The Spokesman added that Egyptian National Intelligence Agency Chief only directed the invitation to the Head of the Israeli Government to visit Egypt at a time to be agreed upon soon, in order to conduct further consultations regarding peace achievement efforts between Palestinians and Israel.

The Spokesman pointed out, in this regard, that it was clear that some people in Israel will attempt to question Egypt’s vision towards the Israeli Foreign Minister situations he mentioned repeatedly during the past period.
