Training course for African officials on Combating Human Trafficking and Illegal Migration

The  Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development (EAPD), ‎Affiliated   to the Ministry of foreign Affairs, organized, in cooperation with the Cairo Regional Centre for Conflict Resolution and Peacekeeping in Africa and the  National Coordinating Committee on Preventing and Combating Illegal Migration NCCPIM a training program on combating human trafficking and illegal migration  for  officials from 8 Africans countries.  

The training program last from 29/11/2016 to 04/12/2016. It provided the trainees with an overview of the international conventions dealing with human trafficking and illegal migration, as well as the national legal framework and mechanisms. Furthermore, it pointed out the international and African mechanisms and organs set up to address the issue, in addition to the bilateral and regional cooperation, and best practices in this regard.    
       
14 trainees participated in the training program from 8 different African countries: Ethiopia, Burundi, Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo, South Sudan, Djibouti, Tanzania and Eritrea. 

​The training program has been organized with the aim of sharing the Egyptian expertise in combating human trafficking and illegal migration and supporting the capacity building of our neighboring African countries in this field.
